Each morning when I look out my window Coreopsis ‘Nana’ greets me. Delicate golden blooms evoke feelings of happiness; a good way to start my day.

I planted a river of Coreopsis ‘Nana’ repeating the same plant which creates visual rhythm.

The purple globe-shaped blooms are Allium ‘Purple Sensation’. Purple and yellow are opposite colors on the color wheel and together they create a sense of harmony.
The shrub near the river of Mouse Ear Coreopsis ‘Nana’ with the dark pink flowers is: Snippet Dark Pink reblooming Weigela. This shrub is petite, grows in sun and continues to bloom through summer.

Clematis never ceases to please; delicate purple blooms add charm to my garden.

Lemon yellow flowers with centers the color of a sunset enhance the Itoh Peony ‘Bartzella’. They make excellent cut flowers in a vase.

Chartreuse is a favorite color I use throughout the garden as it creates unity. The name of the edging plant below is Alchemilla mollis. I prefer the common name Lady’s Mantle; I think the common names for plants are prettier.

Lady’s Mantle has scalloped foliage and bright chartreuse flower clusters; it makes a lovely edging plant along borders, growing in shade and sun areas.

Aralia Sun King’s chartreuse foliage emerges in spring adding vibrant contrast to the darker green plants. Aralia can grow 6′ tall and 4′ wide.

Slender chartreuse leaves of Japanese Forest Grass create a waterfall-like effect brightening up a shady corner.
