I recently found this quote on one of my favorite garden sites and loved the ending: Always the garden because it is the title of my blog.

Why did I choose Always the Garden to be the title of my blog?

Because when the world wearies and society ceases to satisfy my garden is always the place I want to be.

Spring arrives bearing gifts. Her warmth encourages the red peony buds to push toward the sun rays. The buds hold the promise of future gorgeous blooms.

The ‘Rainbow End’ Hosta wants to join the party. Her beautiful variegated leaves now huddled together will slowly open to unveil her beauty.

Pansies – another sign of spring are well known for their “faces” – distinct markings British growers began to breed for in the 1800’s.

Each spring clusters of delicate, yellow flowers emerge in the mottled, red foliage of epimedium perralchicum ‘Frohnleiten’. This ground cover prefers shade and moist soil. It adds interest to the shade garden.

Clematis clings to a trellis waiting to reveal its wonder. This climbing vine with star-shaped flowers in vibrant shades of purple never ceases to amaze.
